Australian Owls Print

This print is a love letter to Australian owls, which I’ve been fascinated with since I was a kid. There’s something about them that always felt a bit mysterious, like they’re quietly in on something the rest of us aren’t.

Each of these started as a cardboard block print, which I was drawn to because it’s rough, unpredictable, and unforgiving in the best way. Cardboard bends, frays and soaks up ink differently every time, and that was kind of the point. I wanted to lean into those imperfections instead of fighting them.

The originals were printed on recycled paper from Dodgy Paper, which gave them a nice bit of grit and character.
